Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

The short version: Cull runs entirely on your iPhone. We do not collect, store, see or share your personal data, and your photos and videos never leave your device.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Cull app (“Cull”, “the app”) handles information. Cull is developed and published by FOP Melnichenko Andrii Ihorovich, an individual entrepreneur registered in Ukraine (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using Cull you agree to this policy.

1. Data we collect

None. Cull does not collect, transmit or store any personal data on our servers. We have no servers that receive your data, no user accounts, and no sign-in. We cannot see your photos, your searches, or how you use the app.

2. Your photos and videos

Cull needs access to your photo library to do its job — showing your photos, finding duplicates, searching by content and freeing up space. This access is granted by you through Apple’s standard permission prompt and can be changed at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

All of this happens on your device. Your photos and videos, and any information Cull derives from them (such as search indexes or duplicate groups), are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with any third party. There are no cloud features.

3. On-device processing

Features like content search (“find by meaning”), duplicate detection and quality analysis run using models and computations that execute locally on your iPhone. No photo, thumbnail, caption or metadata is sent off the device for processing.

4. No analytics, no tracking, no ads

Cull contains no third-party analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs and no tracking identifiers. We do not build a profile of you and there is nothing to “opt out” of, because nothing is collected in the first place.

5. Purchases

Cull offers a one-time in-app purchase (“Cull Unlock”) that removes the free daily limits. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We never receive or store your name, email, or payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

6. Notifications

If you allow notifications, Cull may schedule occasional local reminders on your device (for example, that a cleanup batch is ready). These are generated on your iPhone. We do not operate a push-notification server and no data is sent to us.

7. Deleting photos

Cull never deletes photos on its own. Cleanup actions move items to an in-app Trash, and real deletion only happens when you explicitly confirm it through Apple’s system dialog — after which the items go to your device’s “Recently Deleted” album per Apple’s normal behaviour.

8. Children’s privacy

Cull does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is not directed at children under 13 and contains no data collection that would require parental consent.

9. Data security

Because Cull keeps everything on your device, your information benefits from the security of iOS and your device passcode/biometrics. As no data is transmitted to or stored by us, there is no server-side data that could be exposed.

10. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data that a company holds about you. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. You remain in full control of your photos through the iOS Photos app and the Photos permission at any time.

11. Changes to this policy

If Cull changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
